Third Place in a national Portrait Competition sponsored by the Artist's
Magazine, issue of December, 1989. First Place for Oil Painting at the
Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit, New York City, Spring 1983. Juried
Exhibitions: American Artists Professional League, New York City, 1991; Audubon
Artists, New York City, 1989.
EDUCATION:
Studied oil painting at The Art Students League of New York from 1978 to1980
with David Leffel, Frank Mason, Robert Philipp and John Howard Sanden.
Concours-award painting purchased by the League for its permanent collection.
A native of Sherburn , MN and a graduate of the University of Minnesota,
Minneapolis with a major in journalism and a minor in studio art. Wrote for
several newspapers and The Associated Press before leaving journalism to pursue
a career in art.
